Show Low

Spent 4 days in the mountains in Show Low AZ to beat the heat. Went hiking and kayaking (we loved kayaking) and learned to play blackjack with M&Ms.  We viewed our first ever sighting of two bull elk near shore while kayaking.  We are now considering if kayaks would be something we should get and do on a regular bases here near town. Show Low reminded me of going to Tahoe as a kid without the 6hrs drive, the crowds, and without a dangerously huge lake.

Show Low got its name when two of the biggest ranchers decided that the town wasn't big enough for the both of them so they played a cowboy card game to see who would leave. The object of the game was to have the lowest card, to show low, and thus the town's symbol of the two of spades. AZ so colorful sometimes.
