UCLA Recognizes Judi Kaufman

Last Monday, Dec 13th, UCLA Hospital recognized Jennifer's mom, Judi Kaufman, for the 13 years she has raised funds for UCLA Neuro-Oncology.  Judi started Art of the Brain, her fund raising charity, after her first surgery for brain cancer.  Since the start, Art of the Brain has raised over $5 Million dollars towards research to find a cure for brain cancer.  Present was the dean of UCLA Medicine, A. Eugen Washington, director of UCLA's Neuro-Oncology, Dr. Timothy Cloughesy, folks from long time sponsor The Johnny Mercer Foundation, Brain Buddies, and supporters including friends, family, and researchers.  Although this event was put together by UCLA to recognize Judi's tireless fight to support brain cancer research, for most all us there, it was a celebration of knowing and being touched by the force of life that is Judi Kaufman.  Judi knows that brain cancer will eventually succumb to life.
