Photo note: After shooting flash off camera in manual mode for a while, I went back to using on camera flash in TTL mode, I don't like it. I think what I don't like about TTL is that it tries to hard to balance lighting the subject and the background but does a terrible job. The pre flashing in TTL mode cuts the final output of the main burst because it must also account for small flashes that emitted to determine exposure, the background gets the short end of the stick with multiple small flashes.
Outputted from Lightroom 4, I'm trying to like it but still just don't, it seems like a lot of extra work with very little in return for the serious stuff and for this family stuff, it saves some time but not by much and PS allows more precise control with a wider range of tools. Stuck in my ways.
