Grand Canyon Train Turned to Santa's Train Ride

An over the top show on the train ride makes it hard not to enjoy it

Trip to Flagstaff AZ, first stop, was the Montezuma Castle National Monument, but we missed our exit so we did the Montezuma Well first.  The well was perhaps more interesting in that there were cliff dwellings, a sink hole well that receives new water from Flagstaff snow caps and drains out through indigenous canals towards the Castle farm lands.

Then it was off to rent ski and snowboard equipment before heading towards the cabin.  That night, dinner in old town Flag, at a pizza joint with in house made gallato.  Part of Route 66 downtown Flag.

Next day skiing and snowboarding at the Snowbowl with all it's made made snow (no natural snow yet this year).  Private ski and boarding lessons were great, you get priority on the bunny slope "magic carpet ride."  We were all doing the beginners' slope after the lessons.  S and Jennifer were on skis, G and I were on boards.

Next day a visit to Lowell's telescope where Pluto was discovered along with other US astronomy discoveries.  The observatory had a scale walk from the sun to the various other planets in our solar system.  The sun was about 24" in diameter.  The next nearest star would be about the distance of Los Angeles!  Thats about 475 miles.  Alien visits on earth, I don't think so.

Last was Santa's Train ride in Williams AZ.  A show on the train headed towards Santa's village and back was interesting.  The players were so over the top you couldn't help but get into it on a cold winter night.
