Other memories include waiting in queue for about an hour in the rain for some really good ramen. Not much English spoken but no need, order on a kiosk, pay on a kiosk (Visa taken), hand the ticket over and enjoy. Used camera prices were much cheaper in Kyoto but the selection was smaller. The train system was not as robust so more taxis taken here. The no tipping culture in Japan is FABULOUS, eat, pay, go or in a taxi just pay and get out. No calculating in your head.

| Most Shrines required socks or bare feet |
 |
The Suirokaku Aqueduct in the same complex and built well after this shrine offers a juxtaposition of old and new and is often used in Japanese TV and movies
